Clips Store + Content + Tutorial + Support (Approx 2.5 Month Rev)
I have had a number of people who hit me up asking about the established clips stores, but could not afford the price of them so they were looking for something cheaper, or something that I would allow them to do payments on. So here is that offer. Options: 1. I will license you around 300 scenes of my content (or 100 of another, 3 mo. updates). 2. I will teach you how to cut, watermark, and ...

This is a program you would use to, ‘in theory’, harvest info on your competition and also get some relevant keywords and back links for SEO and traffic. My guess is most of the blogs are complete shit and you are better off spending your time and energy on a link-spun or thunder-ball for trading and building links.

However, one of the guys I consult for hit me up a rave on this program. So it may be worth some checking out.

How Do I Get Started in Adult?!

Posted By: Chris Marcus on June 4, 2010 in Clip Stores, Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

I get asked this question all the time. I will tell you my honest opinion although many others may disagree depending on their background. Some people are nothing but traffic guys, and work the affilate and traffic broker game. Others are looking to do their own pay sites, and maybe produce their own content one day. While others do not care about any of that shit and simply want to make money from their home and in their underwear.

In my opinion the easiest way to start in the adult industry is with a clip store. It is low risk, and as long as you follow the routine daily, you should easily get your R.O.I. in a few months and  from there you expand. However, before you go head strong into the adult industry you need to keep in mind that your success and failure resides completely on YOU. I can give you all the best advice on the planet, 13 years of experience, what I would recommend you do based on your knowledge, cash, and skill sets. But if you do not listen. There is nothing to keep you from ending up in the shitter. Adult online is the same as any other business. You have to put in the WORK. Obviously, there are some perks. Freedom, and working in your panties from home.  That said, let’s get rolling.

This is going to be a basic business outline you would follow assuming your end goal is to develop your own pay sites, and possibly your own content. Before you get to that point, REGARDLESS of how much money you have, you should follow these steps. They obviously are not going to make you millions over night. But you WILL learn the skills you need to make money online.

1. Go to your local county clerk’s office and register a business D.B.A. (doing business as).

2. Go to your local bank and open up a BUSINESS checking account, and get your credit/debit card that goes with it.

3. Research the niche you want to start out in. There is a lot of good content out there you can get for a few thousand dollars that would last you for YEARS of updates. I  would recommend you get into something you like personally. You are going to have to look at this stuff daily. So it would make you life more enjoyable if it is something you are passionate about. But you can always go more mainstream hardcore if you like. You may just need to work harder.

4. After you have picked a niche(s), then you need a domain. This will be important for a pay site later, branding, and watermarking your clips. I have written a tutorial on how to find good domain names in that section.

5. I would get a virtual hosting account. This is going to be for your banners, your gallery submits, posting up pictures to forums and other things. Virtual hosting is about as low as you can go, and be dependable. If you use a free host or something similar, they can nuke you and your content at any time. There is nothing more annoying that working for a month, and then have your content killed because you broke some Terms of Service or became high bandwidth. Hosting, in time, will be the life line of your business. You need to invest in a decent one for everything from hosting your site, promotion materials, branded email and DNS/domain management.

6.  Next, you need to sign up for your clip stores. There are a number of them out there now a days, but really the only two I have found that make you decent money are Clips4Sale and Clips.com. The terms vary, and I prefer C4S myself, but typically you are looking at a 60/40 or 50/50 type of split.  For their end, they are taking care of the billing, hosting, and other b.s. that they take on their end. While not the best deal around, it is a decent deal.

7. Once you get your content, you are going to want to watermark you clips. There is a tutorial to do it with one of the mid range programs I use, and recommend. There are higher and lower end on the market. I also use Premiere and Sorenson Squeeze, depending on if the clip is a re-run, or a 1st release, etc.. But I digress…

So you watermark you FULL LENGTH clips. Once you have done that, you would then want to cut your clips into sections. Some do this, some do not, it’s up to you. I am giving you a very basic overview of what has worked for me. So you do say maybe two  week’s worth to start. Watermarking and compressing your FULL LENGTH, and the cutting into sections. I like to do three pieces. So if a clip is 10 minutes long, I do 3 minutes per. You can’t be less that 2 minutes on a Clip Store.

Continued later…

Stop Getting Ripped Off by Designers

Posted By: Chris Marcus on June 3, 2010 in My Story, Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

It’s important for me to state that not ALL designers are con artists who love running up the tab on you. However, if you do not know what you are doing or too lazy to learn you are going to run into problems. I will give you a prime example of this.

I am working on this huge network of sites for not only ad spots to add into my existing network, but also adding in link trades and some other things for tracking and what not. As you might imagine, building 30 sites in 30 days is a hefty task and can be costly to boot. For this project I already had a site that was done some time back that fit the mold for what I wanted in this first batch of sites.

It would be running on a centralized server script where I can have one central DB/admin panel with 10,000+ sponsor galleries but I can have 100 different sites pulling from this single DB daily. I would set up each new site with different domian, colors, header, and parameters to pull from on the DB so that no two of the 100 sites would have the exact same content.  I would also set up my link organizer on each new site as well. So I would, again, have one centralized link management admin panel to handle my entire network of links. I figured I can do one of these per day.

The part is can get tricky with is design work. Most would look at this project, and think they need a whole new design for each site. Even though you are looking to use the same type of look and template for all sites as you launch them. You throw out some posts looking for bids and they come in from $50.00 Russians, to your main guys saying they can do it for $100/250.00 a pop.

While these are fair prices more a less for a NEW DESIGN you really do not need one. After all, you are simply changing up a free graphics and some headers for the most part. Although some designers will tell you that you need a new design. Not so if you have a demo site with a working CSS and some basic HTML skill.

Now, before you try this yourself. You need to make sure you do a complete copy of any code on your site, and save it in a text file. That way, should you fuck something up you can easily cut and paste the original back in there. You should ALWAYS do this if you do not know what you are doing, and are trying to do something yourself. Otherwise, you could screw up your site and not know the steps to back track in your code.

Ok, so you would want to open up your CSS/HTML on your site to see if you can make some basic changes like a background. I take a peek at my main demo example site, and….

On this example, you can easily see where the background color to the site and style sheet (CSS) is controlled by the HTML. I can easily switch this up myself by finding color codes and replacing it for each new site. You can find color codes by doing a quick Google search.

“html color codes”

You find a color you like, replace the color in the “CODEHERE” in between the ” and save. This should change the color of whatever you are doing in that HTML code. So in this case, it changes the background color from a light blue to purple.

So now you ask, WIIFM (what’s in it for me”? Well, this little trick just saves you a lot of time and money. Instead of $250.00 for a new design per site and 1-5 days to cut and install it each time (assuming that is what thye would do) you now can change it yourself, and only need a designer for the header graphic and some minor other graphics that should be around $10-50.00 per site. Depending on what you need.

Sometimes it PAYS to learn these little HTML and other tricks to save yourself time and money.

Try Different Ads. Never Stop Testing!

Posted By: Chris Marcus on May 28, 2010 in My Story, Traffic Generation, Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

For the past few weeks I have been launching a bunch of websites adding to my traffic network.  They are a mix of blogs, membership and tube sites, forums, TGP’s, landing pages, among other things. I integrated my Smart Spots ad script, as I talked about the other day, and replaced my OpenX.

I have 80% of my sites running with the new ad rotation script and I notice some changes. While my celebrity sites, blogs, forums and other things are doing really well with their CTR (click through rates) my tube sites were not (To be fair, I have not intalled the Smart Scripts on my tube pay sites. Their CTR is typically much higher) the tube sites were terrible.

I have years of tracking data from my OpenX, and normally the sites all have CTR ratios of less than 1:250, and tube sites typically are more like 1:500 or less. But the traffic tubes were running like 1:1700 in a week’s time of installing the new Smart Spots. So I am thinking, that can’t be right!

I only had a half dozen banners in rotation at that time, so I figured I would add in a few more sponsors, and also  change things up a bit with some simpler banner ads. In two days time that CTR on the tube sites had dropped down to 1:746 and keeps falling. I now have around 18 banners in rotation, but have switched up almost all of the ads. Some banners I made myself because I did not like theirs.

So in 2 days times, with tens of thousands of impressions, a couple of quick simple changes and that CTR was cut in half. It simply goes to show you that simple is sometimes a better solution when doing affiliate ads, and marketing techniques. Also, that you need to always be tweaking, tracking, and changing things up when they do not work.

Do not be afraid to try a new trick or two. Just make sure you have something in place to track those changes. Otherwise you are going about it blind and will struggle much more than you need to.

Celebrity Membership Pay Site, Blog, Fan Site

Posted By: Chris Marcus on May 21, 2010 in Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

I get a lot of questions on the celebrity niche, and how you can make money, if you can make money, how easy is it to make money and so forth. So I am going to give you a crash course in celebrity sites. But before I get started, let me explain a few things.

If you are worried about DMCA and other celebrity issues, this is not a niche for you. Many people are too scared to be in this market. So do not bother reading any further. Secondly, if you are one of these people who think anything remotely along the lines of, “Why would people pay when everything is free on web”, or, “Why would people buy porn when it is all free on torrents, tubes, etc.”, do not bother me. You have the wrong mind set for an online business, and should head back to your fry vat. You will never make money if that is your thought process.

Alright, now that those people are out of the way. First things first. I am going to briefly touch on some of the things, especially western world, people need to concern themselves. However, I am not going to go in depth into them. That is what you pay CONSULTING for. ;)

1. Set up an LLC ($350-500).
2. Set up business bank account. ($25)
3. Get/buy/license some
4. Get/build/buy a celebrity site CMS.

I personally have two CMS’s I have built, and a few variations of them. One of a base line CMS that will do a pay site ($500.00), allowing previews of your membership area. It allows the first 24 hours free, and then after that, you have to pay. Clicking on an archived image will only get you the join page.

I have a second celebrity CMS that is a tube hybrid pay site script ($1500.00). This would allow for celebrity videos. This works the same way. You get the first 24 hours preview free, and then after that you have to pay or you will get the join page.

You can tinker with the settings, and have the sites auto shuffle via a cron job if you wanted, or are a lazy fuck, and do not want to update daily. However, I do actually update daily.

5. You need a processor. Not all processors will work with celebrity sites. However, Verotel (14%) and Zombaio (4.9%) both will. Better yet, you have no VISA ($750-1500.00) fees. You can opt for check, ACH, or WIRE to your business bank account.

6. Setting your site up correctly for SERPS. This is the folly for most people. Not setting up their site correctly from the get go. People think you need 100’s of links, and all this other bullshit. Wrong.

Here is one, of many, examples where an old (sold) site that is not even being actively marketed. I have spend NO time promoting the site, nor have I done much linking of any kind. I do not buy traffic, or links.

SKIN SERPS

Now this is a site that I have not done any promotion on. But it is a good example of how proper page set up can make a huge difference in getting you some decent SERPS and traffic to your site. I have some blogs, and other sites that are doing the same or better examples as this and I have never actively promoted them in ANY way.

Good keywords, proper page set up are KEY to getting you good results. If you want to spend your time, money, and energy further promoting the site with mainstreams traditional methods to increase SERPS. Have at it.

7. Type of site(s). You can take your vast content library and do a number of sites. I typically only do pay sites. That is my forte. However, you can do blogs, use for image hosting, do survey sites, among countless other things. You can do one, or all, and over time be the celebrity king.

Ok. So next, how do you get some members to your site(s). Again, I am not going to go into all of the various methods in detail. However, I will list some ideas for you.

Examples:
Image hosts. Forums. Sigs. Blogs. Fan Sites. PPC Ad buys. Buy traffic. TGP Submits. Free Sites. Link Network. Banners. Among many other things.

8. Picking a price point. If you look around the price on celebrity membership sites varies. Many of them are charging more money… $30-50 per membership, however, I have always been around $10-15. The reason for this is, I am not looking for massive charge backs. I am also not looking for affiliates. So I do not need to have a huge price point since I do not have that overhead. Because of that, I have never been over the 2% charge back imposed by processors. In fact, I have never even been over a half a percent in over a decade in the celebrity niche!

Keep those things in mind when you are setting the price for your site, and what your short and long term goals are for the site(s). You are better off doing a smaller price point, and then doing the marketing yourself then having to deal with massive charge backs or fraud.

One of the best things about celebrity sites is that you have so many marketing and traffic options available to you. Which is very nice if you have some money to spend. It will NOT circumvent you building traffic yourself, but you do have some options available to you that not all niches will.

9. Use your content library to build a network. Yes, this will take some time to build and set up your different sites and link them, get traffic and so forth. But over time, you will build yourself a nice little traffic generator. Just because content is on one site does not mean you can’t use some/part on another. There are many ways to monetize this business model.

10. Install OpenX or an ad server. Make sure that ALL your sites on your network are running ads. Preferably centralized. This can be done many ways, from links to ad rotation and so on. You do not need to stick to just one. You can try many different ways to do it. Whether you start selling ad buys on the boards for $50-100 a month, or you simply want to use PPC or some other company to sell your ad space for you (typically taking 50%). It is another revenue stream you should not forget about.

This is just a short overview, of course, as this is typically what I give those who ask me about the celebrity sites and market. The rest you either need to do yourself, or pay someone. Realistically, you can easily get 200+ member in a short period of time to your site, and most will rebill for a number of months. (Keep in mind, this is subjective on your offering and price point as well)

ex: $12.00 (after processing costs) x 200 = $2400.00

I have been in the celebrity niche since getting out of college in ‘97. For me, it is a labor of love. I have always enjoyed the niche, so it is not that hard for me to put in a couple of hours a day, M-F, collecting images, and updating my site(s). However, like with ANY membership site. You need to put in the work and effort. Motivation and consistent work ethic is what will make, or break, you.

Adult Industry Thoughts

Posted By: Chris Marcus on May 15, 2010 in Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

A few points of clarification that have come up…

Cataloging:

If you buy/license content from someone independently, you can send it to me and one of my assistants will organize it for you. Putting it into a nice spread sheet, and matching up models, file names, and even writing out a long and short description for you. All of the information will be put on an Excel spreadsheet and put on your drive, or sent to you.

The advantage to having this done, is that it will save you an incredible amount of time trying to keep track of what you have, models and file names, as well as your 2257 records. Better yet, you can just copy and past that info into your site when uploading clips for your clip store(s), pay site(s), whatever.

On pay site deals where I am plugging in a content package for a price point, like my $5000.00 deal with AMAContent. I would have the drive shipped to me, organized or cataloged (if you pay extra), and then when I am done, ship it to you with a tracking number.

Obviously this is a convenience and you are going to pay for the assistant’s time to do this. Also to note, I do not upload your 1100 scenes. I may do a set number, typically 250 and no more than 400, for a set price in addition to my script/design/content deal.

Typically all of the editing, cutting, compression of your content is left up to you. Most people do multiple versions, and have a particular way they want it cut. Not everyone is the same. Just as not everyone prefers Dvix/WMV/MPG/AVI and so on.

Additional Content:

If you need additional content, you can always let me know. I know most of the content producers, and who is selling what. I can also typically work out a nice price point other than advertised. This is of a benefit to everyone since I can easily move more volume, and handle their marketing.

So if you are looking for a particular niche, or bulk content. I either know of someone off the top of my head, or I can find someone to fulfill you need who is not going to fuck you over. I can even do the research for you, and negotiate terms.

This is a sticking point for a lot of newbies I have found who are trying to get into pay sites, clips stores, or production. You need to know the licensing, and legal bullshit to make sure you are protected, and not going to be ripped off, or fucked, for your thousands of dollars.

I make it easy for you.

Work Ethic:

As I mentioned in my O.P., I am going to give you a crash course in what you need to be doing, and how you should be doing it. Whether it is one thing, like a clip store, or whether it is the whole scha-bang with SERPS, clip stores, pay sites, and recruiting models.

I am going to tell you what you need to focus on from the beginning to make things easier for you, and drive the most traffic and sales long term. Ironically enough, taking the time to write good descriptions, and spending the extra time to do it right from the get go will best serve you in the long run.

When you learn to do this consistently with your sites, blogs, link bait and pay sites over time. You will see how easy it is to game the SERPS and rank for most of your key words of choice.

That said, in the end, it will still come down to YOU doing the work. Not only the “routine” that is required. But also, after the six months is done, it will be on your to keep researching and growing within in the industry.

The one constant is change.

Conferences:

I typically go to the bigger conferences when I can. So I am always free to meet up with you there and go over some things hands on. I suppose if you have a big enough bank roll, you can fly here or I there. But most things can be answered by email, phone, or IM.

Coaching Guides:

I have some guides and coaching I already have typed up from other people I have helped over time I send along. Some need to be added or modified depending on what you are doing. Not everyone is going into content production, or just a clip store, etc..

I tailor a lot of my help to you based on your questions and feedback. There are no dumb questions, and everyone’s skill level is different. Some come from the online mainstream world and have some knowledge from there. Others are programmers or designers and have that skill set. Yet others are just money guys who enjoy porn and need some help getting into the business without being ripped off.

Whatever you needs, we work it out. But you really need to be committed to wanting to do this, and the work involved. If you read any industry forum anymore, they can reinforce to you that the good old days are dead.

That does not mean there is no money IN porn. But what it means is, you have to work smarter, and harder, than in 1997 or 2002. So you are not going to simply throw up a website and it works like a lotto ticket or scratch off. You have to be willing to put in the work.

Online is really no different then a real job. You have some nice trade offs in your freedom of time and creativity. But ultimately, you approach and run it, just like a real world business.

As always, any questions, feel free to contact me. I will add more to this post as more questions arise in my conversations that I do not want to type out repeatedly.

VARIOUS SOFTWARE PROGRAMS:

Posted By: Chris Marcus on May 14, 2010 in Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

I currently use the following software…

Adobe Premiere. I use this to pull the video from camera, and used to use it to process my clips. This is simply too slow for me since I now process many clips at a time, but would be good for you since you do not have volume. You can pull the clip from your camera via FIREWIRE and then cut, watermark, and process the clip all in one program. You do not have the multiple options for encoding, WMV, QTM, and so on which is helpful for later use. But it is a good program for your initial needs. I still use it for pulling the video myself. However, I then use other programs to make things much faster. I also use this program in the first step to render a DVD.

Sorenson Squeeze.
I use this program to import my videos, and compress them. It gives you the option to process many clips in a que, which I love, so I can load it up and go to bed. You also have the option to easily process the clip into other formats if you like. Which is helpful for limited content library and clip store use. It has a lot of other features I do not use, but it is a very robust program.

VideoCharge
I use this program for watermarking. Since I do many clips at once now via Sorenson. I also use this program to cut up processed clips. This is done in a few seconds and wastes little time. Which is nice. When you do this in Premiere, you have to wait for it to re-render. Again, not a big issue for you since you are starting out, but it is a hassle when you are trying to rerun 20 clips on stores and sites at once.

FrameShots
This little gem is awesome for video captures. You need vidcaps for your clip store, or I would recommend it, as I have found out that is converts best for me. You do not want to have to manually go through frame by frame trying to grab 6 shots from a clip. This program you can load up the clip, and set it to pull 10/50/100 whatever snaps, and then you just roll though them and pick 6. It does a nice job, and makes it much easier.

CuteFTP Pro
I use this program for my uploading of clips. I am not sure what all else is out there anymore since I have never had an issue with this program. I just update it so often as they add in new features. It does well for your uploading of clips, whether to site or clip stores. I do not like to use web browser uploaders. In fact, I can’t fucking stand them.

Adobe PhotoShop
I use this program for piecing together my 6 shots for the clip store. You do not need anything this fancy for this simplistic use. I am not sure what all else is on the market, but a simply editor should do the trick and there may even be a free one for this minimalistic need. I also use it to crop, and clean up, the raw images from shoots so I have it for TGP submissions and such down the road. TGP submissions are how you get a lot of links, and some traffic. It is really becoming more important for SEO purposes then it is for traffic generation now a days.

****
A special note for those of you who are college students. You can get a discount on a lot of software by faxing them a copy of your college I.D.. Sometimes it is as much as 50-70% off!! So it is worth your while to check into it. Especially if you have a college I.D. to fax in for those more expensive programs.

VIDEOCHARGE: CUT CLIPS INTO SEGMENTS

Posted By: Chris Marcus on May 11, 2010 in Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

When you are working a clip store for maximum exposure, you want your clip ‘popping’ through out the day. You may only update with one clip per day, but you want to make the most of your one clip. All clips must be at minimum 2 minutes per segment.

I mention this because some clips are going to be able to only get cut into two pieces, others you can cut into more. It is important to maxmimize each clip to it’s fullest when you can. So first step for you would be to sort clips by time. If they are 6 minutes, you can cut three times. If 5 or less, you cut twice and so on. This is important as we get to the next step.

1. Open VideoCharge.
2. Box pops up. Check should be at the middle of three choices. Hit ‘Ok’.
3. New menu. Scroll down to ‘Split Video..”. Next.
4. Open up your folder where you have your watermarked full length clips.
5. Pick one of them that has been watermarked and compressed.

Step 5: You can pick multiple or a whole folder of clips to do at once in VC. You do this using your CNTRL key and highlight all the clips you want to do at once. However, for simplicity sake, we are going to do one at a time.

6. Next. Through Common Directory.
7. Select Outut. You want to pick, “Without Re-compression (fast). Next.
8. Destination Folder. Put in the D:/whateverpath to where you the cut clips going. Next.

Step 8: I typically make a folder for Cut Clips to go into seperate from the main. Same as I make a folder for Watermarked to go in that is different from the original version. This keeps finished product seperate and folders clean. However, you can do whatever you like. If you pick nothing, the files will dump in same folder as original full length clip you selected at Step 4.

9. Select Thumbnail. Select nothing. Next.
10. Select Tumbnail Size. Select Nothing. Next.
11. Set Thumbnail folder. Select Nothing. Next.
12. Set Video Paramethers. Check Third Option. Split files. 2 or 3 (based on time). Next.
13. Finish.

This will cut your full length clips in a few minutes (if doing a bunch of files) into segments for your clip store. You would then upload the full length, and the clip segments, into the clip store. This allows you to get a day of ‘pops’ or updates versus just one. You can also pick multiple catagories.

14. When clips are done processing, go to folder, delete thumbs. Upload finished to clips into your store.

VIDEOCHARGE: WATERMARKING

Posted By: Chris Marcus on May 9, 2010 in Tutorials - Comments: No Comments »

This guide will service the purpose of providing a basic walk through on how to do processing and watermarking of your clips for use on a clip store. Some steps you may not like, or agree with, but this is how _I_ do it for my own stuff.

1. Launch VideoCharge (VC)
2. If a box pops open. Close it.
3. Over on the left there is a VideoFile1/ImageFile1. Delete that ImageFile.
4. Open up your folder on hard drive, or computer, where the videos are you want to process.
5. Drag ONE from the folder, into the main middle window of VC. You should now see it showing on the menu to the left.
6. Click on that file. It should now show up in the main window.
7. Click on the tab, in the middle window, named ‘Watermark”. Scroll to the bottom.
8. There is a text box icon, far left, above the video. Click that.
9. A dashed box now appears. Up in the top right, you see www.whatever which matches box.
10. Put your url in the box in that top right window. It should udpate in main window.

Below the top right window there are a series of choices. These are used to pick the color of your watermark, the transparency, the size and font, as well as the placement. I would recommend you pick an easy color already on the choice list and then you will not need to try and find over and over. Myself, I use one color for a site. So all videos will be blue, green, red for that one site. It probably does not matter, but that’s how I prefer to do it.

I will pick Veranda or Ariel, then blue, transparency 50%, font size 14, bold. You can do what you like in that regard and play with it some.

At the bottom, you will see Axis. It’s a 9 square box. You will click lower left, or right, where ever you want your watermark. I like lower right. It moves it to the farthest position lower right. I do not like it there myself. Again, this comes to preference, I will move it up a bit from there so there is a little space between the border and url.

Once I have the url where I like it. I will click below the main video window (in gray area) to see how it looks. If satisfied, I think hit the green play button toward the upper left.

For you, since you are learning, I would recommend you only do one video at a time until you get used to it. Myself, I will do 10-15 at once. But I know what I am doing, and since I will be encoding these overnight while I sleep. I really do not worry about it. But until you get the feel for what you are doing, you need to take it slow.

You want to make sure that you have your clips watermarked, even if you are only doing a clip store out of the gate and launching a pay site later. Most people are not going to remember where a clip came from. Especially when people are buying from multiple stores. So if you have an easy url on them, they can find their way back to you. If you do not watermark them, good luck. You lose branding, and potential customers long term.

Building Adult Traffic. A Nugget of Wisdom 4 Ye.

Posted By: Chris Marcus on April 30, 2010 in Traffic Generation, Tutorials - Comments: 2 Comments »

I figured this would be of use to some of the adult folk who congregate in this forum, since many in the others think we are taboo.

1. Make one main super site or use a domain.
2. Sign up to sponsors that cater to a niche you understand and enjoy personally.
3. Sign up for Chameleon Submitter (or other submit programs). $24.95 mo.
4. Make new galleries out of the sponsor content provided. Do not use their pre-made. Everyone else is already doing that, and you will not get listed.
5. Submit using Chameleon. Link back to your main super site. Do this 7 days a week to start, eventually maybe back down to 4-5.
6. Arrange all your gal submits on that super site.

Yes. It will take time. So you may want to do 15-30 in advance before submitting to fill up your site. Although you can always mix in some sponsor galleries with your referral code if you like. Keep adding in more of your own daily. Even if only one or two. You drive traffic to your TGP or super site to gain traffic and book markers. Plus hopefully make some conversions.

Organize the submits by niche, sections. Over time you will have a nice super archive of stuff, plus traffic and bookmarkers.

Now that you have a hub, or main traffic stream,.. from there, launch new sites.

The main thing that you NEED TO DO to make it online (IMHO) is you need one site to launch from. For me, it was the celebrity site. Which is why I love the celebrity nice. Steady money, and traffic. I spun off every other site from that one by links, newsletter, and so on. Even if not adult, or foot related.

Having 200 small sites with sh&& traffic are not going to get you making money. I know that we’ve all thought that, but what you need is one, solid, launch pad site that either has… visitors… or makes money. Obviously, you’d prefer both.

What I did personally was try the various sites, and those I could make money on, I kept. Those that did not make me any real money, traffic, whatever I sold off. I’ve done that same thing over the years time and again. I may try a new niche, or market. Demo things, see if I can make money and how much. But then I sell it off, and keep those that do. Kinda like leap frogging.

One more thing, to make it online, adult or otherwise, since many do not have money to get rolling, buy super sites, or burn on traffic…. you are simply going to have to invest TIME. If you can’t invest time, then you are going to fail, so you had might as well get on to failing right now.

Submitting galleries, link lists, and link building is a pain. Everyone hates it. Yes, everyone would like a short cut. But to ‘cut’ in this case, you need green (aka cash money). Many I’ve talked to, and helped have NO GREEN. Some are willing to do what it takes. Others keep talking about ’short cuts’, and buying traffic, etc. But it’s no surprise they fail.

Again, in IMHO, I would say that if you are just starting out in adult and have no ‘hub site’. You should be investing 1-2 hours a day minimum building links, traffic trades, submitting galleries, free sites, and linking them up back to you. It will take you 3-6 months to see any real progress. Around the 9-12 month, if you are doing this every day, you should start to see some results and cash in. DO NOT GET LAZY. Keep going!

Eventually you will be able to leap frog to buy established sites, build your own, try different niches, and networks. But make sure you maintain your main “hub site”. The one you launch from. Keep the traffic, UV, sales, whatever strong.

Sell off those things that do not work. You will find over time some sites you like working on, but they take more time, and generate you less money then other sites. Unless it’s of personal interest to you. Sell it off.

I get a lot of PM, and ICQ from the board asking me to look at their sites, and give them pointers, and help. Some I have even talked to on the phone. Keep in mind however, a few tips and a few minutes are all I generally give. If you need more detailed help, run a search on here for my consulting help thread.

Yes. There are steps that I am leaving out. Yes, there are many variations to the above on ways to do things. But I am give giving you a few pointers. I am not your online Yoda. But I thought this would be useful to some of my friends in this forum.

Good luck.
